Photo Show
Community College of Philadelphia
CCP Photography Club
The Community College of Philadelphia's PHOTOGRAPHY CLUB will be exhibiting prints by student members. Opening reception is on Saturday, April 18 from 5-9PM and running until the end of April.
Prints for exhibit and sale will be shown at Dada Rug and Art Gallery, 113 S. 12th St (corner 12th & Samson Sts.), Phila. Pa. 19107.
Dada Rugs' interior designer, Davoud Rad, is extending the courtesy to club members for the 3rd consecutive year.
Dada Rugs Specializes in sales of natural fiber rugs and wall hangings and also offers design services, restorations, cleanings, and appraisals.
Photography Club faculty advisor, Michael J. Joniec, is pleased to assist many talented students exhibit their contemporary, talented work in a beautiful venue.
Various styles and photographic techniques by club members ensure an interesting, professional exhibit. Patrons wishing to purchase artworks, at reasonable prices, are assisting college students to assemble resources for continuing their college education and are acquiring beautiful decorative artwork from budding young artists.
Please visit during normal store hours, Tuesday through Thursday 10-6, Fridays 10-8, Saturdays 10-6, and Sundays 12-5, or plan to attend the opening reception on April 18.

Trip to Philadelphia Photographic
On Monday, 2/23, the CCP Photo Club participated in a guided tour of Philadelphia Photographics processing laboratory.
Owner & Photo Dept Advisory Board member, Jim Hood, conducted the grand tour.
A group photo is coming to you, shortly.
Participants are encouraged to bring in images to PIZZA meeting on Monday, 3/2.
Attending: Courtney Thall, Sean, Ann Enders, Walt Johnson, Len Parry, Beau Johnson, Earl Weeks, MJoniec..... and others.
Members reported the experience to have been worthwhile, informative, and inspirational!

-Members talked about the merits of using "Archival" quality, gold CD's & DVD's. Encouraged to use china markers or soft graphite pencils for labeling vs. acid rich "Sharpie" type markers. MATSUI brand highly recommended by INKJET ART Newsletter. www.mam-a.com
-"People Having Fun" theme for Print Samples competition deadline for submissions 4/6/09
-V.P. Doug Rivera Presented a Vinyl banner to the club. He produced the banner compliments of Kinkos. Doug's stunning design will make club presentations at public events more professional looking.... it adds a touch of class.
-Earl Weeks & helpers bought more pizza & wings, compliments SGA. Thank You!
-MJ described the car ride to Rochester, NY a beautiful photo opportunity for landscape photographers.
-MJ Showed his nature photos as submissions for Print Exhibition. Members approved images for display in April
-Tuesday, April 14 is the date members need to drop off framed photos for print exhibition. Opening night Sat 4/18, 5-8PM
-Members urged to submit location ideas for "Photo Safari", 2nd week of March during Spring Break.
-Ann Enders showed B&W scans from 35mm B&W film, produced by Philadelphia Photographics Lab, Phila. Nice imagery, Nice lab work!

-Mon, Feb 23rd, 2:45PM, outside at 1021 Arch St. members assemble for 3PM tour of Philadelphia Photographics professional image processing facility. Guided tour by Lab Owner, Jim Hood.

-PHOTO SAFARI..... 2Nd week of March during Spring Break...... Photo Safari location TBA. Members stroll and photograph and exchange ideas.

We secured a gallery space for the Club group print exhibition.
