CCP Photography ClubMeeting Minutes 10/27/09
Attending: Doug Rivera, Walt Johnson, John Ervin, Sultan Howard, Jennifer Rigler, Lois Nelson, Fred Rosso, Len Parry, Ann Enders, Mary Leszczynska, Denise Turner, Pam Bivens, Beau Johnson, Paul Grugan, Earl Weeks, Michael Joniec. Total = 17.
Meeting began at 4 PM
-WOW! A veritable explosion of ideas presented by club pres, Earl Weeks!
Here's the highlights.............
-Club now bona-fide because of volunteer student & advisor training. Thanks to all who participated. SGA(Student Government Association/ Da Federation) approved a budget of $1000.00. Group advised by SGA to use the funds and if necessary apply for additional funding. Earl suggests purchasing certain pieces of equipment to facilitate fund raising.
-Student members advised to submit suggestions for desired equipment
-MJ suggested looking at new FUJI instant cameras & film.
-Fund raising very important. Suggest booking a space well in advance of event. Bake Sale in November.
-Many student clubs looking for photos. Need volunteers. See Earl.
-Consider a wedding events, vendors pairing interactive event as a fund raiser...... soon. Organizer needed.
-Cubicle decoration contest on 10/30. Volunteers needed. See Earl.
-Gallery space, off campus, needed for Photo Club members print show. Members encouraged to seek a venue.
-Members brought in CANDY for distribution to local area children during HALLOWEEN party on 10/28. THANK YOU ONE & ALL!!!
-Paul Grugan mention a lab offering inkjet style photographic printing on rigid sheets of aluminum. Pricey but beautiful. Website: www.

-Members viewed images created during 10/20 Halloween Theme Studio Session.... NICE WORK!
-Walt Johnson reported on his experiences at PhotoPlus Expo in NY. Many wonderful exhibits with state of the art items. Large crowd, Easy transportation via regional rails costing c.$40.00. (Depart Phila 7:08AM-Arrive Javits Center 9:42AM!!!!)
-Walt & MJ expressed concerns regarding amount of paperwork involved in contacting prospective members via standard forms from Clubs & organizations. Earl suggests only name & e mail required in power point document.
-Ann Enders suggested next week's activity. Members voted unanimously to participate........ Bring an item from home in a small paper bag. Members randomly choose anonymous bags, take items and photograph, bring photos & item back to next meeting.
-A rolling book cart has been instituted in the classroom. Members encouraged to read while waiting. Books for use in classroom, only.
Meeting ended at 5:45PM
To do for next week, 11/3, meeting: Bring an item from home in a small paper bag. Members randomly choose anonymous bags, take items and photograph, bring photos & item back to next meeting.
