Meeting began at 4 PM.
We forgot to capture a group photo!!!! Gotta try it in July & August!!!!
-New Member, Blaire Porter from Nursing Program, welcomed. She's had a few photo classes some time ago. Strong interest in contemporary photography.
-Walt Johnson welcomed back. Congratulations on successful rib surgery after a fall. We're wishing him speedy recovery & we're happy he made the effort to attend!
-Officers Earl Weeks (pres.) & Doug Rivera (V.P.) presented members who attended six or more meetings with CCP Club Embroidered Patches & signed Certificates of Acheivement custom designed by Doug. Other attendees asked to purchase a patch, anytime, for five dollars, proceeds to benefit the club. KUDOS to Doug Rivera for the original, creative, professional design & production during the academic year.
-These people can pickup their patch & certificate at the next meeting in July:
Cristina Valevieso, Antonio McCall, Liz Eddis, Shawn Wilson, Tyrone Marquez, Joe Staffieri, Courtney Thall, Qaadira Muhammed, Andrew Golas, Beau Johnson.
-Store discount can be obtained at Millenium Art & Framing, 1332 Walnut St, Phila, by showing the patch.
-Club's fiscal year ends 6/30. Earl & officers to considered budget requests for 2009/10 academic year.
-Next photo classes begin 7/6..... Photo 101 & Photo 103. 35mm & 4"x5", B&W, darkroom based, traditional, film photography. Students encouraged to sign up.... while we still have a "darkroom" laboratory.
-Doug presented prints he has made on a Hewlett printer. Composite illustrations, bold graphic design, 15"x20", textured cotton rag paper. NICE!
-Earl Weeks report that his Civil War re enactors will be encamped by The Liberty Bell through the 4th holiday weekend.
-----photo club will visit 3 PM, Fri, July 3, 5th & Mkt Sts.
-Earl requests members to consider what activities and what funding will be required for 2009/10 year.
-Fund raising is an important activity for school clubs. Members encouraged to think about future activities.
---Some suggestions: Bake Sale, Photo Booth, Talent Contest, Print Sale, Sports Teams individual & Group Photos, Internet Radio Station.
-Members encouraged to think about when to have our next Gallery Show & Sale. November & April seem best.
-Members displayed their photos from photosafari 6/6/9. Ann Enders, Harry Bayton, Ngoc Tran, MJoniec.
